Is there a reason you are not getting a job -
Is there a reason you are not getting a job - Let me tell you the tale of two job seekers. One has been out of a job for almost a year. She is really tired of looking for work, and chafes at the idea of ramping up her networking. She doesnt have time to optimize her LinkedIn profile and focus on using Twitter for the job hunt. Even thought she has a great resume and terrific experience, she has a tough time getting engaged in the hunt and she has nothing good to say about how things are going. Our other job seeker has also been looking for work for almost a year. She went at it alone for most of the time, doing what she thought was right (it wasnt) and banging her head against the proverbial wall. When she reached out for help, she was frustrated, but open to new ideas. She understood that you cant expect to do the same thing and expect a different result. That really made sense to her. She was actually HAPPY to know that there were things she had NOT tried. It energized her to have new networking plans and suggestions about social networking tools to use to fuel her hunt. Her attitude is upbeat, and although shed most like to land a job TOMORROW, she knows that she is on the right track now and will find a job that is right for her soon. Look in the mirror. Do you recognize yourself in these profiles? Which job seeker do you think is likely to land more quickly? Not to be a doomsday predictor, but even well qualified people can easily be out of work for extended periods if they do not conduct an optimized search. Additionally, dont forget how important your attitude is in the job hunt. I worry about my clients who seem too wrapped up in the negative to take advantage of all the resources available to them. Think about it NOW is the time to make a change. Its not too late to have a good attitude and to move forward confidently with your search. WHAT IS HOLDING YOU BACK? Details of Dubai Resume Writing Tips
Details of Dubai Resume Writing Tips Definitions of Dubai Resume Writing Tips Be sure your resume is tidy. What you exclude is at least as crucial as what you include. You don't need to go outrageous. Ensure you show the best you can! Key Pieces of Dubai Resume Writing Tips In a step-by-step procedure, EasyJob Resume Builder gathers all of the information required to create your resumes. Use the checklist to ensure you have included all appropriate data in your resume. You might not use all the jobs you have on your list, but is only a manner of providing yourself with a list to select from. Learn about the three kinds of skills you'll be able to highlight and the way you're able to incorporate them into your resume. A simple resume template is going to be your very best bet. If your work involves social media, you can incorporate the links to other social networking accounts like Twitter, Instagram, and so on. A great resume format is simple to scan. Well it is all dependent on whether the job posting instructions specify a specific format. 1 advantage for employers to internet resumes is the substantial cost saving in contrast to traditional hiring methods. There are lots of basic kinds of resumes used to make an application for job openings. You should list work in reverse chronological order starting with your latest job. If you make an application for work in the Middle East, you want to either compose an outstanding cover letter or ignore it completely. If you've got more than 1 career objective, the very best plan is to create several resumes that target your different objectives. By being aware of what skills and qualities a prospective employer values, you will have the ability to tailor your resume to satisfy the requirements of the prospective employer. Your experience should deal with every essential qualification in the job announcement. After your own personal summary, your career experience should assume the vast majority of your resume. Unfortunately, most recruiters only spend 10 to 20 seconds looking at every individual resume, or so the secret to writing a great resume is to tailor it to the job which you want, highlighting that you've got the abilities and talents necessary to not just qualify for the job, yet to help the business reach its objectives. Resume writing isn't a simple job and lots of factors have to be considered if you desire a resume that will be effective. So once you're considering how to compose a resume, don't forget that you ought to be selling your abilities and accomplishments, not merely listing your work history and your old responsibilities. When it has to do with your work history, begin with the latest job you had.

Cram-sorption Learning Intelligence Testing - Whats the Connection - Work It Daily
Cram-sorption Learning Intelligence Testing - Whats the Connection - Work It Daily By J.T. O'Donnell I just read a short, funny post by Dan Reich, a blogger for BrazenCareerist.com in which he explains why he plans to start the University of Nothing. In college, Reich says he was forced to use âcram-sorption learning.â This is a study technique that required him to memorize information just to pass a test and get a good grade, but that also made him promptly forget what he learned. At his new university, heâs planning on implementing âdiscovery learningâ - where students are given an objective without instructions, and then encouraged to use any and all resources to achieve the objective. Reich believes the process of discovery will help students internalize and commit to memory what is learned while trying to meet the objective (a.k.a. learning by doing). It was ironic to read this post because Iâd just finished reading Sir Ken Robinsonâs new book, The Element: How Finding Your Passion Changes Everything. In it, Robinson also outlines problems affecting our education system today. In particular, he discusses the varying forms of intelligence and how our schools donât cater to the development of all types of intelligence. He also explains the history of intelligence testing and how it is flawed. To support his claims, Robinson gives incredible stories of professional success about famous people who, as children, were labeled anything but intelligent. He shows how their ability to ignore societyâs definitions of âsmartâ and its repeated efforts to assert limitations on them actually pushed these individuals to prove society wrong and find professional success on their own terms. Robinson goes on to discuss the importance of recognizing not âifâ you are intelligent, but âhowâ you are intelligent in order to identify c areer paths that will leverage your strengths and increase your professional satisfaction. (If you are interested, here's a video of a speech he did on the subject.) As I contemplated what these two men had written, I saw an interesting connection between themâ¦as well as an important lesson for job seekers. As the New Year approaches, thousands, no actually, millions of Americans will claim a ânew career in the new yearâ as their 2009 resolution. Over 2M college grads alone will enter the job market with this goal in 2009, right as the unemployment rate is expected to reach 9% and the number of jobs for entry-level grads is expected to drop over 8%. Not to mention, the average job seeker is under-educated when it comes to knowing how to look for work effectively. Talk about rough odds! In short, many of these resolutions wonât come true. However, I put my money on those who understand the simple truth to getting on track professionally: a discovery learning approach to finding a career that leverages a personâs own unique intelligence is the best way to find what theyâre looking for. When put together, Reichâs and Robinsonâs thoughts on learning and intelligence unlock the secret to finding professional success. And now that you know the connection, the questions remains - âHow can I apply this to my job search efforts?â Well, here's the answer... For years now, Iâve taught those who are looking for greater career satisfaction how to leverage the following equation: Experience = Learn = Grow Itâs a fact - those who approach job search and career development as a growth process consistently see better results.
